LG's high-capacity cartridge for French door and side-by-side refrigerators built around the LT1000 housing. It is the filter most often cross-shopped against third-party replacements because the genuine part is the most expensive item in the LT family.
About this cartridge
The LT1000P is the retail code; LG also ships the same cartridge as LT1000PC and LT1000PCS, and the factory part number on the box is usually MDJ64844601. The two ADQ numbers — ADQ74793501 and ADQ74793502 — appear on older stock and on Kenmore 9980 cross-references, which is why the same filter turns up under five different names.
Physically it is a slim cylinder with two locking lugs on the head, seated in the ceiling of the fresh food compartment. Because the housing is vertical and the cartridge is short, it is often mistaken for the taller LT700P. They are not interchangeable: the lug pattern and the head diameter differ, and forcing one into the other housing cracks the manifold.
LG rates the cartridge at 200 gallons or six months. Households with hard water or heavy dispenser use usually hit the gallon limit first, so the indicator light is a fallback rather than a schedule.

These part numbers refer to the same physical cartridge. If the number on your old filter is in this list, this is the right replacement.
LT1000P does not replace LT700P, LT800P or LT600P. They share the LT name but use different housings. Check the number printed on the cartridge you are removing.

Replacing it
- Turn the old cartridge a quarter turn counter-clockwise and pull it straight out. Keep a towel under it — a few ounces of water will come out.
- Remove the protective cap from the new cartridge and check that the O-rings are seated flat in their grooves.
- Push it in and turn clockwise until it stops. Run two to three gallons through the dispenser to flush carbon fines, then reset the indicator.
