The most widely used Samsung refrigerator cartridge, fitted to RF22 through RF30 and most RS side-by-side models. Sold as HAF-CIN/EXP outside North America.
About this cartridge
DA29-00020B is a slim internal cartridge mounted on the upper left wall of the fresh food compartment. It is rated at 300 gallons or six months, and certified to NSF/ANSI 42 and 53 — lead and mercury reduction is claimed, pharmaceuticals are not.
The part-number sprawl is the main source of ordering mistakes. DA29-00020A is the earlier revision and works in the same housing; HAF-CIN and HAF-CIN/EXP are Samsung's own retail codes for the identical cartridge. Resellers also list 46-9101, WF294 and DA97-08006A, which are cross-references rather than Samsung numbers.
Samsung changed filter design in later models — DA97-17376B (HAF-QIN) is a different shape entirely and does not fit these housings.

These part numbers refer to the same physical cartridge. If the number on your old filter is in this list, this is the right replacement.
DA29-00020B and DA97-17376B (HAF-QIN) are not interchangeable. Check whether your cartridge is flat-ended or has a stepped collar.

Replacing it
- Turn the old cartridge a quarter turn counter-clockwise and pull it straight out. Keep a towel under it — a few ounces of water will come out.
- Remove the protective cap from the new cartridge and check that the O-rings are seated flat in their grooves.
- Push it in and turn clockwise until it stops. Run two to three gallons through the dispenser to flush carbon fines, then reset the indicator.
