everydrop Filter 4 — the cartridge Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Amana and JennAir all share. UKF8001 is the old part number and still the term most people search.
About this cartridge
EDR4RXD1 is the current code; UKF8001 is the pre-2015 number that refuses to die. Both describe the same cylindrical cartridge, and everydrop lists W11256135 and W11311161 as the latest supersessions.
This is the most cross-branded filter in the US market. The same cartridge ships in Whirlpool French door models, Maytag bottom-freezers, KitchenAid French door platforms, and Amana and JennAir built-ins. That is why one part number carries dozens of unrelated refrigerator names.
everydrop certifies Filter 4 to NSF/ANSI 42 and 53, with a stated 0.5–1.0 µm rating and a 200-gallon or six-month life. Whirlpool's warranty explicitly excludes damage caused by non-genuine filters — the only manufacturer in this set that says so in writing.

These part numbers refer to the same physical cartridge. If the number on your old filter is in this list, this is the right replacement.
Filter 4 (UKF8001) is not Filter 1 (W10295370A) or Filter 2 (W10413645A). The cartridges differ in length and collar.

Replacing it
- Turn the old cartridge a quarter turn counter-clockwise and pull it straight out. Keep a towel under it — a few ounces of water will come out.
- Remove the protective cap from the new cartridge and check that the O-rings are seated flat in their grooves.
- Push it in and turn clockwise until it stops. Run two to three gallons through the dispenser to flush carbon fines, then reset the indicator.
