The chip-equipped cartridge for GE's premium French door and built-in lines, including several Café and Profile models. Supersedes RPWF.
About this cartridge
RPWFE is the RFID version of RPWF. As with XWFE, the chip is what the control board checks; a cartridge without it will physically fit but the refrigerator will keep asking for a new filter.
This housing is mounted on the interior left wall rather than the ceiling, and the cartridge is longer than the MWF. It is certified to 42, 53 and 401 at 300 gallons.
Third-party RPWFE replacements with cloned chips exist and are common on marketplaces. Behaviour varies: some work indefinitely, some are rejected after a firmware update. If the filter light staying on would bother you, buy the genuine part.

These part numbers refer to the same physical cartridge. If the number on your old filter is in this list, this is the right replacement.
RPWFE and RPWF are physically interchangeable; only RPWFE has the chip.
Which refrigerators it fits
GE has not published a model-level list for this cartridge that we can verify, so we do not publish one either. The number on the cartridge you are removing is the reliable check.

Open GEReplacing it
- Turn the old cartridge a quarter turn counter-clockwise and pull it straight out. Keep a towel under it — a few ounces of water will come out.
- Remove the protective cap from the new cartridge and check that the O-rings are seated flat in their grooves.
- Push it in and turn clockwise until it stops. Run two to three gallons through the dispenser to flush carbon fines, then reset the indicator.
